How the Crypto.com Referral Program Works

Crypto.com, founded in 2016 and based in Singapore, combines a consumer app, an exchange and a Visa card programme. Its app referral pays both sides a fixed reward once the new user reaches a trading milestone.

Crypto.com's app referral (rules updated July 2026) pays both of you when you reach trading-volume milestones of $100, $500, $1,000 and $5,000 within 30 days of KYC approval. Amounts depend on the country tier: in Tier 1 (the US, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland and a few others) the steps pay $5, $15, $25 and $75, with a maximum of $75 each. Tier 2 (for example France, Canada, the UAE, the Netherlands, Portugal, Australia) tops out at $65, Tier 3 (for example Spain, Italy, Japan) and every other country at $50. Staking CRO for a metal card or taking the annual Level Up Pro plan adds $25 each. Stocks and stablecoins don't count towards volume.

The separate Crypto.com Exchange referral excludes the UK, Hong Kong and the EEA. Codes are 10 lowercase characters.

Referral Code or Welcome Bonus?

It's one or the other: the referral reward and Crypto.com's Welcome Bonus are mutually exclusive. If you signed up without a code, you can still switch to the referral programme within 14 days of KYC approval as long as you haven't traded yet, but you give up the Welcome Bonus.

How to Apply the Crypto.com Code

1. Copy the referral code or open the link on your phone.
2. Sign up in the Crypto.com App and enter the code.
3. Complete identity verification. Outside Europe, your phone number and ID document must be from the same country.
4. Within 30 days of KYC approval, reach $100 of trading volume for the first reward; stocks and stablecoins don't count.
5. Keep trading towards $500, $1,000 and $5,000 if you want the next steps. Each one is credited to both wallets within 24 hours.

Forgot the Code? Adding It Later

Enter the code when you sign up in the app. If you skipped it, you can still add one in the referral dashboard ("Add a referral code") within 14 days of KYC approval, provided you haven't made your first trade. That moves you from the Welcome Bonus to the referral programme: you can't have both.

Who Can Use It: Eligibility and Countries

Crypto.com restricts some products by country (for example derivatives in the US) and excludes sanctioned countries. The app referral programme isn't available in the United Kingdom, South Korea, Singapore or Uganda, and outside Europe your phone number and ID document must come from the same country.

Local rules: Availability depends on where you live, not on the code. In the US and UK many global exchanges either run a separate local entity or do not accept new clients, and the UK FCA requires crypto promotions to come from authorised or registered firms. Always check the exchange's list of restricted countries before you deposit.

Security Record

• January 17, 2022: Attackers got past two-factor authentication on 483 accounts and withdrew 4,836.26 ETH, 443.93 BTC and about $66,200 in other currencies; withdrawals were paused for about 14 hours. Crypto.com says every affected account was fully reimbursed. It rebuilt its 2FA and added a 24-hour delay before a new withdrawal address can be used.
