How the Bitvavo Referral Program Works

Bitvavo, founded in Amsterdam in 2018, is a euro-based crypto exchange for residents of the SEPA zone. Its referral programme runs as campaigns: if you sign up with a friend's code and meet the campaign's requirements, you both get a bonus, and an eligible code also refunds your trading fees for the first 7 days, up to €10,000 of volume.

The code has to be entered when you register. You then verify your email, identity and bank account, and complete the campaign's requirements within its period, which starts when you create the account. Depending on the campaign that means a minimum euro deposit, a trading volume, or several steps. The Campaign Hub (gift icon) shows the requirements, deadline and your progress.

The bonus can be cash in euro, a fixed amount of one crypto, or a bundle of several. It can differ between you and the friend who invited you and by country, and it arrives within 48 hours of completing the requirements. It's then locked for 180 days unless the campaign says otherwise: you can trade with it but not withdraw it. The referrer also earns 15% of the new user's trading fees, paid daily in euro and capped at €500 a month.

How to Apply the Bitvavo Code

1. Copy the code or open the referral link. Check that you live in a supported SEPA country first.
2. Create your account on bitvavo.com and enter the code during registration. It can't be added later.
3. Verify your email, identity and bank account.
4. Open the Campaign Hub (gift icon) to see your campaign's requirements and deadline. The period starts when you create the account, not when you're verified.
5. Complete the requirements. The bonus arrives within 48 hours and stays locked for 180 days unless the campaign says otherwise.

Forgot the Code? Adding It Later

Bitvavo is clear on this: referral codes can only be entered when you create the account and can't be added later.

Who Can Use It: Eligibility and Countries

Bitvavo only accepts residents of supported SEPA countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. Accounts can't be opened from outside the SEPA zone, and you must be 18 or older.

Local rules: Availability depends on where you live, not on the code. In the US and UK many global exchanges either run a separate local entity or do not accept new clients, and the UK FCA requires crypto promotions to come from authorised or registered firms. Always check the exchange's list of restricted countries before you deposit.
