How the Bitpanda Referral Program Works

Bitpanda, founded in Vienna in 2014, is a broker app for crypto and other assets aimed at Europe. Its Tell-a-Friend programme pays both you and the friend who invited you up to €100 each, in steps, as you buy crypto, starting once you've invested €500.

Bitpanda has no field for a code: a referral only works through the friend's personal link, opened before you sign up. You have to be new to Bitpanda, finish sign-up through that link, verify your account and keep cookies enabled.

Rewards come in five steps based on how much you buy in crypto or Bitpanda Crypto Indices (BCIs): €5 each at €500, then another €10, €15, €30 and €40 at €1,000, €2,000, €5,000 and €10,000, for up to €100 each. They're paid as voucher balance into your fiat wallet, the amounts can differ by country of residence, and the programme isn't available in the UK.

How to Apply the Bitpanda Code

Open your friend's referral link in a normal browser window with cookies allowed and ad blockers off. Bitpanda tracks the referral by cookie, so private mode can break it.
Create your account on bitpanda.com through that link. There's no code field, and the referral can't be added later.
Verify your identity. You need to be 18 or older, live in a supported country and have a supported ID.
Buy crypto or BCIs on Bitpanda Broker. Each step pays out when your total purchases reach it, as voucher balance in your fiat wallet.

Forgot the Code? Adding It Later

Bitpanda doesn't add referrals after sign-up. The account has to be created through the referral link, and the help centre says retrospective credit isn't possible.

Bitpanda Broker charges one fee per trade, built into the price shown before you confirm: 0.99% for bitcoin and stablecoins, 1.49% for most altcoins, 2.49% for Spotlight coins. Bitpanda Fusion has its own fee schedule.

Who Can Use It: Eligibility and Countries

Bitpanda verifies residents of more than 40 countries, nearly all in Europe: the EU and EEA, Switzerland, the UK, Serbia, Turkey and a few others. People in the US or with US citizenship can't sign up, and you need to be 18 or older with a supported ID. Tell-a-Friend isn't available in the UK.

Local rules: Availability depends on where you live, not on the code. In the US and UK many global exchanges either run a separate local entity or do not accept new clients, and the UK FCA requires crypto promotions to come from authorised or registered firms. Always check the exchange's list of restricted countries before you deposit.

Common Problems and Fixes

The referral didn't register

Bitpanda tracks it by cookie. Turn off ad blockers, don't use private mode, don't clear cookies during sign-up, and check that a VPN or antivirus isn't interfering. It can't be added afterwards.

My purchases don't count

Only crypto and BCI buys on Bitpanda Broker that trigger a fee count. Sells, swaps, margin trading, Fusion trades and other asset classes are excluded.

My reward disappeared

Rewards are valid for 180 days after they're credited; whatever is unused after that is deducted.

I live in the UK

UK residents can open an account with Bitpanda Broker UK Ltd, but Tell-a-Friend isn't available there.

No. Only purchases of crypto or BCIs that trigger trading fees count. Sells, swaps, margin trading and Bitpanda Fusion trades don't.

Is there a deadline for reaching the steps?

Bitpanda doesn't publish one. Once a reward is credited, the general terms give you 180 days to use it.

Can I open a second account?

No. Bitpanda allows one account per person and closes every account of someone who opens more.

Does using a Bitpanda referral code cost anything?

No. The referrer is paid by Bitpanda out of the trading fees, not by you. Codes that share part of that commission with you (a "kickback" or fee rebate) can actually lower your fees.

Can I use more than one code?

No. An account can be linked to one referrer only, and the link is set when the account is created. Choose the code before you register.

Are the bonus amounts on code sites real?

Large "up to" figures are usually the maximum of a whole new-user task programme that very few users complete. We show the exchange's own terms instead, so you know what is realistic.
